Second out the box of Glenfarclas it’s the 105! Named after something, I’m sure, but as we said last time the website is a little light on information. They suggest serving this as a “210” (a double) which might blow your face off, honestly.
The 105 is offered at a cask strength of 60%, or 120 proof for you pirates out there. Not sure how it cuts with gunpowder tho. Here’s what we thought:
nose
Dan – burnt caramel with some smoky cardboard
Simon – burnt leather, old apple cider
Bowick – orange/grand marnier, liquer
neat
Dan – pure volcanic tongue damage, there was a small moment of sweet, very small
Simon – lemon explosion, burn trail, cask
Bowick – citrus fireworks
finish
Dan – short, fresh skin
Simon – short fierce burn
Bowick – clean, satisfying burn
splash
Dan – less smoky johnny walker, not. fucking. good.
Simon – bad, thin, moonshine effect
Bowick – bland
overall
Dan – 1/10
Simon – 3/10
Bowick – 4/10
