The sixth tiny bottle from the medium box of big flavours. Pay me to write, you jags!
Here we have a hobo’s tear worth of Ardmore 10y, of which is the fifth batch. Is that good? We’ve had one Ardmore before, their Legacy, and the Teacher’s Highland Cream is made with something from Ardmore as well.
We’re a quarter the way through the Advent box from That Boutique-y Whisky Company and so far it’s been solidly hit or miss. Which honestly is a good thing really, it means everyone who bought it gets exposed to something off their palate. It also confirms that waiting until the end of December and paying a heavily discounted price was the smarter option. Here’s what we thought:
nose
Dan – smokey, taffy
Simon – leather, old people, mint, smoke
neat
Dan – smoke, burnt sweet coffee
Simon – sharp burnt coffee
finish
Dan – short and hot
Simon – bitter, not good. too much heat
splash
Dan – iodine & bitter
Simon – kinda disappears
overall
Dan – 6/10
Simon – 4/10
Ardmore 10y Batch 5 Single Malt Whisky – 48% 30ml – ??? – Highlands
Try it? Nah. Buy it? No.
