Not much to say about Jack Daniel’s that you haven’t already thrown up in an alley, praying for death. They make Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey, which legally is just bourbon from Tennessee. It does taste
different from worse than any bourbon I’ve tried, so there’s that. However, this is the bottom line of the range, so it’s possible there’s redemption in other bottles.
smell
Dan – hairspray, sharpie, reminiscent of crack, dill
Simon – aerosol perfume, solvents, wood, char
Ryan – shoe polish, false sweetness
neat
Dan – little actual flavour, evaporates quickly, scent overpowers taste, licorice
Simon – maple, oatmeal
Ryan – tastes marginally better than it smells
splash
Dan – disappears into sugar, pretty good
Simon – cherry
Ryan – good, some complimentary parts but not great
