Innis & Gunn Toasted Oak IPA with Dan & Ryan

IMG_4616The first out of the Summer Mixed Pack, the Innis & Gunn Toasted Oak IPA! Always great to see a new Innis & Gunn.

There’s a nice amount of information on the website, like that this is wheat malt with a specific kind of hops (I don’t know hops). It also mentions that this isn’t toasted oak barrel aged, so to speak, but rather run through something called an Oakerator, which is a registered trademark of course. Fire up your own critical media interpretations, because I’m at the lake.

Here’s what we thought:

colour
Dan – rosey
Simon – dark for an ipa
Ryan – light for i&g

smell
Dan – good, floral, sweet
Simon – hop bright, sweet
Ryan – honey

taste
Dan – grapes, nice
Simon – sweet fruits
Ryan – smells hoppier than it tastes

finish
Dan – hoppy at end
Simon – hop bitter
Ryan – hops

Innis & Gunn Toasted Oak IPA – 5.6% 330ml – ?? – Scotland

Try it? Yes! Buy it? If you can find it.
