Here we go again! BattlesScotch gonna leave you BattleScortched (patent pending) with all the hot Bushmills on Bushmills action up in here!
Something different this time: introducing the Overall Impression category, basically a fourth vote either way for the complete experience of the whisky, as a few times the scores didn’t truly reflect the decisions we felt we were coming to in conversation. And since Chris is a newbie to the… uh… art? of drinking & thinking.. about it. Sommelierizing, I guess. I’m sure it means fancy nose dude in french, but it’s pretty funny how phonetically close “sommelier” is to “smeller”.
“and what do you do?”
“i’m a wine smeller.”
“oh. that should have a better name. something french sounding”
Anyway, we figured since a BattleScotch! didn’t involve knowing flavour words or thinking about the experience of tasting, just being able to prefer one thing to another, it was a good introduction to Sommelierizing.
