discerning drunks classy alcoholics

img_1606Late night, late post! Just a quick Round 2 of one of our all time faves, the Glenrothes Select Reserve. 351st article, that’s kind of crazy.

This introductory bottle from a long standing distillery is a common feature on many of our whisky shelves. We’ve reviewed it on its own and as part of the Glenrothes flight at The Highlander and BattleScotched it as well. Here’s what we thought this time around:

Dan – malted chocolate & ginger, some sweet apple cider
Simon – malt, marsh, honey
Ryan – cherry wood, caramel

Dan – vibrant & lots of spice, slight citrus, caramel
Simon – honey, sweet roundedness, raisins & spice
Ryan – sweet apple, light smoke, smooth, buttery

Dan – very long
Simon – warm, smooth & very nice
Ryan – light, easy

Dan – n/a
Simon – sweet nectar with burn
Ryan – n/a

Dan – 8.3/10
Simon – 8.4/10
Ryan – 8.5/10

The Glenrothes Select Reserve – 40% 700ml – $59.95 – Speyside

Try it? Of course. Buy it? Yes.
