The Singleton 12y Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky in an Air Canada Lounge

The Singleton 12y Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky. A rogue’s smile and an upgraded ticket got me into the Air Canada lounge in Winnipeg (mostly the ticket), where I found this relic of a grandfather’s attic. Hung upside down in an airport lounge for who knows how long, it’s also been breathing for about 10 minutes while I negotiate two terrible wifi networks and avoid using LTE until the 10th. Odd to find something I haven’t tasted before offered up for free; who am I to turn down free liquor? That would be downright irresponsible.

nose – mild oak, slight citrus, a little soap

neat – orange pop, a lot of noise. orange liquor,

finish – cheap burn becomes chest warmth, not unpleasant

splash – simpler, more tongue numbing and sharp. less good

overall – interesting but eh 7/10

The Singleton 12y Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 40% 750ml – $56.20 – Speyside

Try it? Eh. But it? Meh.

I had also tried it once when I was visiting my grandfather’s cabin in the woods, and all the youngsters just took one bottle. It is one of the oldest whisky that I have tried in my life.
