I don’t like sour beers. This Rodenbach Grand Cru Flanders Red Ale from Belgium is a sour beer. I didn’t like it either. The time cask aging doesn’t fix it.
But the website says this is a “specialist beer aimed more at experts” if you wanted to read some pretentious trash on a Saturday. I guess I’m not a beer expert, as I didn’t enjoy this kombeercha. Here’s some notes:
colour
opaque brass
nose
sour, damp, cured meat, plum sauce
taste
sour. ears popped. fresh like juice to start then wall of sour
finish
just sour. so nasty
overall – not the worst sour but damn
2/10
Rodenbach Grand Cru Flanders Red Ale – 6% 330ml – $3.35 – Belgium
Try it? Do you like sour? Buy it? Again, do you like sour?
