Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey with Bengt, Brad & Chris

Another Video Review

Clyde May’s Alabama Whiskey. “Distilled Since 1946, Legal Since 2001” is a pretty great slogan. Especially since within four years they’d be the official state liquor of Alabama, followed shortly by a few alcohol production and sales convictions. But it’s all better now. Now you can get their bottles in Massachusetts and Ontario. Here’s what we thought:

nose
Brad – mild, wet corn, fairgrounds
Bengt – fruit, alcohol
Chris – pretty faint, butterscotch
Simon – light, smoke, wood, cherries

neat
Brad – still hot, not in the chest but the throat, not very distinct
Bengt – warm, cherry pipe tobacco
Chris – initially smooth then kicks you, no flavour, just burn
Simon – apple cidre burp, light, just very light and easy

finish
Brad – throat
Bengt – cherry pipe
Chris – lips tingle
Simon – mouth burn, sweet, hot lips

splash
Brad – opens it up more, cherry, corn, fairground
Bengt – comfortable
Chris – watery with heat
Simon – musty, literally nothing, slightly sweet

overall
Brad – 7/10
Bengt – 6.5/10
Chris – 3/10
Simon – 6/10
