IMG_20131026_213135This one has been on the list for a while, good grab on Dan’s part.

Connemara‘s claim to fame is being the only peated single malt irish whiskey, which sounds pretty unverifiable from this side of the Atlantic. Still a good pitch. If you read the site you realize that it’s a blend of young and older whiskies of the same malt, distilled in irish pot stills.

Fascinating.

smell
Dan – peaty, musty, oak, earthy
Simon – honey, smoke, leather
Ryan – pear, hard fruit

neat
Dan – buttery, orange, wood, citrus, smells more than taste
Simon – chocolate, orange
Ryan – non specific

splash
Dan – fruitier, not smokier, middle of campfire smoke, wood
Simon – lighter and fruitier
Ryan – n/a
