Luck O’ The Irish: Paddy Old Irish Whiskey with Steph

BAM. Perfect timing. Because the key to a good whiskey review is all in your calendar alignments. Paddy Old Irish Whiskey, ON St Paddy’s Day. Could you ask for anything more? Ever? No I think not.

…This review was maybe done in November.

Here are some “fun” facts: Paddy’s is in the Pernod Ricard stable along with other Irish lads likes Jameson & Tullamore DEW. It’s triple distilled and named after their most successful salesman. As for how it tastes, here’s what we thought:

nose
Simon – apple, butter tart
Steph – creme brulet, candy apples, birch

neat
Simon – apple cider, sharp
Steph – cinnamon, creme brulet

finish
Simon – tongue burn, short, wood
Steph – sharp

splash
Simon – fills out
Steph – butter

overall
Simon – 7.2/10
Steph – 7/10

Paddy Old Irish Whiskey – 43% 750ml – $ – Cork

Try it? Yes. Buy it? Eh.
