IMG_20130930_193827Spending 36 on the beach with the dog. Steph kindly handed me this bottle on my way west and I’ve had a fair portion watching the dog chase beach rabbits.

Customary back story which i really should have written yesterday: Dun Bheagan is a bottler, not a distiller, so there’s not too much available on it, although this very-specifically denoted cask 302331/302345 of 5376 bottles is listed on the site.

I forgot to take a glass. The view from the beach is

smell
woodshop, smokey, peaty. very islay

neat
iodine & brine, campfire, root cellar, warms the ears

neat with sand
gritty

stupid seagull
yeah! get him!

neat with judgey cottage people shouting at you on your birthday, just because you tripped one time
shamerage

Dun Bheagan 8y Islay Hogshead cask 302331/302345 of 5376 bottles – 43% 750ml – $51.95 – Islay

Try it? WHAT? Buy it? LIKE YOU OWN THE BEACH OR SOMETHING?
