A quickie from the North as I try to push out some of the backlog of beer reviews we have kicking around here. So why not something exotic from Canada’s coolest and coolest capital. Nunavut Brewing Company ᐊᐅᐸᖅᑐᖅ Aupaqtuk Arctic Red Ale, among Canada’s hardest-to-get beers – have you seen the prices on flights to Iqaluit – but you get a decent beer and fun bragging rights.
I’ve had this in Iqaluit and Ottawa & it definitely suffers from the journey south. Here’s what I thought:
nose – light, a little hop, definite red
taste – very simple but clean and refreshing
finish – short, clean
overall – 7.5/10
Nunavut Brewing Company ᐊᐅᐸᖅᑐᖅ Aupaqtuk Arctic Red Ale – 5% 473ml – $ – Baffin Island
Try it? Obviously. Buy it? Definitely.
